A data sufficiency question has a question followed by two statements. You will be expected to answer if the information provided in the statements is sufficient to answer the question. 20 out of the 100 questions in the TANCET MBA exam are Data Sufficiency questions. Data Sufficiency questions appear in other exams such as the GMAT.
Some of the MBA entrance tests have 4 choices to each question and some such as the TANCET MBA have 5 choices to each question. Listed below are the two variants of answer choices (1) to (4) or (1) to (5) for the DS section.
Four Choices
Your answer will be- Choice 1 if the question can be answered using one of the statements alone, while the other statement is not sufficient to answer the question.
- Choice 2 if the question can be answered using each of the statements independently
- Choice 3 if both the statements together are needed to answer the question
- Choice 4 if both the statements independently or taken together are not sufficient to answer the question

Your answer will be- Choice 1 if the question can be answered using statement (1) alone, while statement (2) is not sufficient to answer the question.
- Choice 2 if the question can be answered using statement (2) alone, while statement (1) is not sufficient to answer the question.
- Choice 3 if both the statements together are needed to answer the question
- Choice 4 if the question can be answered using each of the statements independently
- Choice 5 if both the statements independently or taken together are not sufficient to answer the question

Automobile A is travelling at 2/3rd of the speed that Automobile B is travelling at. How fast is Automobile A travelling?
- Statement 1: If both automobiles increased their speed by 10 km per hour, Automobile A would be travelling at 3/4th the speed of Automobile B.
- Statement 2: If both automobiles decreased their speed by 10 km per hour, Automobile A would be travelling at 1/2 the speed of Automobile B.
